(AU)
ABSTRACT
The COVID-19 pandemic required adaptations in the psychologists intervention to mitigate its effects on the mental health of the population. We aim to propose behaviors required of the psychologist to promote mental health in people involved with COVID-19, based on the literature. The method, of qualitative design with documental analysis, consisted of: selecting, identifying, transcribing, and registering behavioral excerpts; deriving unspecified components; writing, evaluating, and adjusting the names of behavior classes; categorize the classes of behaviors. As a result, we identified behaviors related to the categories: identification of important factors for the intervention; description of the importance of customer engagement; psychoeducation; elaboration of strategies, and ethical-professional care. The psychologists work is not limited to the application of intervention strategies but involves promoting behaviors to face the difficulties arising from the pandemic, such as autonomy and stressor management. The data can contribute to improving professional training to work in this context. (AU)
