ABSTRACT
We present the case of a 78-year-old man who presented moderate-severe cervical pain, who did not respond conservative treatment, as well as general symptomology (weight loss, hyporexia and asthenia). The computed tomography (CT) scan and cervical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed odontoid bone reabsorption and retropharyngeal tuberculoid abscess. The patient received tuberculostatic triple therapy, underwent cervical immobilization with Halo Jacket cervical orthosis for 3 months and received rehabilitation treatment leading to a favorable clinical outcome (AU)
