ABSTRACT

El trabajo emocional de los profesionales de Enfermería influye en la consecución de los objetivos de cuidados, por lo que tiene importantes consecuencias en el bienestar del paciente. El propósito de este trabajo consiste en la descripción del trabajo emocional realizado por el equipo de enfermería de una unidad de oncoginecología. Con el objetivo de identificar la asociación de factores sociodemográficos sobre el trabajo emocional realizado, se llevó a cabo un estudio con 18 profesionales del equipo enfermero de dicha unidad. Contestaron el cuestionario de Trabajo Emocional, elaborado por el Dr. Moreno-Jiménez (Índice de consistencia interna de 0,9002), compuesto por 5 dimensiones y 45 ítems, con una escala de respuesta Likert de cuatro puntos. No se encontraron asociaciones estadísticamente significativas, lo que podría quizás explicarse por la baja muestra utilizada. Sin embargo, se mostraron algunas tendencias interesantes sobre el papel del trabajo emocional. Por ello y debido a la importancia teórica que esta idea tiene para la Enfermería, sería aconsejable profundizar en ello

ABSTRACT

The emotional work carried out by nursing professionals has a direct effect on the attainment of careobjectives and has important consequences on the patient’s web-being. The purpose of this paper is to describe the emotional work carried out by a nursing team at the Oncogynecology Unit. A study on eighteen nurses working at the said unit was conducted in order toidentify the association of sociodemographic factors regarding the emotional work performed. The nursesresponded to an Emotional Work questionnaire elaborated by Dr Moreno-Jiménez (internal consistency index 0.9002), composed of 5 dimensions and 45 items, with a four-point Likert response scale. No statistically significant associations were found, which could be explained by the small sample size. Nonetheless, some interesting tendencies were identified regarding the role of emotional work. In view of the theoretical importance that this idea has on nursing, it would perhaps be advisable to carry out further studies on the subject (AU)
