ABSTRACT
Osgood Schlatter syndrome is one of the possible etiologic diagnosis which may cause knee pain in adolescent athletes during growth (boys, 12-15 years; girls, 8-12 years), especially when practicing sports activities such as basketball, football, volleyball or running. Its etiology is a traction apophysitis of the tibial tubercle due to repetitive strain on the secondary ossification center of the anterior tibial tuberosity. Radiographic changes include irregularity of apophysis with separation from the tibial tuberosity in early stages and fragmentation in the later stages. It is very important to provide the patients with much information and to involve them in the treatment, since most cases respond well to conservative measures (AU)
