ABSTRACT
Due to the advances in computer science and digital imaging, we are able to makethree-dimensional reconstructions from images obtained from techniques such as CT-Scan orMagnetic Resonance today, that not long ago had to be seen in two dimensions. However, notlong ago these reconstructions were only available for a few vascular surgeons because ofrestrictions on access to the studies or to the equipment. Today we have computer programsthat enable us perform those reconstruction methods (multiplanar reconstruction, volume rendering) which are very useful for making decisions in both open and endovascular surgery. During the last year and based on OsiriX® software, we have developed a learning curve indigital imaging. In this article we show some examples of the usefulness of this software andhow it can be used to make decisions in an simple, fast and effective way after a basic trainingperiod(AU)
