Los abscesos hepáticos piógenos constituyen una entidad clínica poco frecuente cuya mortalidad ha disminuido gracias a los avances diagnósticos y terapéuticos de los últimos años. El conocimiento de su etiopatogenia y diagnóstico, así como su tratamiento precoz, son fundamentales para realizar un correcto manejo del paciente. En los últimos años, hemos asistido al nacimiento de nuevas técnicas de imagen y abordajes terapéuticos que han contribuido a disminuir la mortalidad por esta enfermedad (AU)

ABSTRACT

Pyogenic liver abscess is a rare clinical entity whose mortality has decreased due to the diagnostic and therapeutical advances in the last few years. Knowledge of its etiology and diagnosis, as well as early treatment, are essential for the correct management of the patient.
