ABSTRACT
Exostosis or osteochondromas are the most frecuent benign neoplasm of the thoracic cage. They are rare though. They can present as isolated lesions, being multiple in case of a genetic disorder, the hereditary multiple exostosis. Spontaneus hemothorax is an unusual presentation of the costal exostosis. We report the case of a thirty-four year old male with a spontaneous hemothorax secondary to an isolated costal exostosis, demostrated by thoracic radiology. The treatment performed was surgery, with thoracotomy and lesion resection (AU)
