RESUMEN
El riesgo de exposición ocupacional a los virus de la Inmunodeficiencia Humana es menor al 0.1 por ciento por año de ocupación. En el mundo han sido publicados hasta el momento 53 casos de transmisión ocupacional al V.I.H. Ninguno de 212 trabajadores del Centro Médico ®La Raza¼ expuestos accidentalmente al V.I.H.-1 mostraron datos clínicos de laboratorio de infección con el V.I.H. Se recomienda como obligatoria la utilización de medidas universales de protección en todas las áreas de la atención médica
