ABSTRACT
The association between ulcerative colitis and lymphoma is rate. The authors report the case of a 54-year old white man who presented a clinical picture and radiological and colonoscopic findings suggesting the diagnosis of idiopathic ulcerative colitis. Histopathological and immunohistochemical studies of tissue specimens obtained at autopsy led to the diagnosis of non-Hodgkin's B-cell T-cell-rick lymphoma throughout the colon. Possible relations between ulcerative colitis and gastrointestinal lymphoma are discussed.
