RESUMEN
Se estudiaron 10 niños con hipertensión porta secundaria a Fibrosis Hepática Congénita comprobada histológicamente. Solo en uno de los niños existió el antecedente familiar de fibrosis hepáticas congénita. Las manifestaciones clínicas predominantes fueron hemorragia del tubo digestivo (Hematemesis) y hepatoesplenomegalia, sin antecedente previo de enfermedad gastrointestinal o hepática. La hepatomegalia a expensas del lóbulo izquierdo (simulando una masa tumoral) se encontró en 6 pacientes. El cuadro clínico recuerda mucho al de hipertensión porta de tipo prehepática. Desde el punto de vista histológico el diagnóstico diferencial deberá hacerse con cirrosis hepática. El procedimiento diagnóstico definitivo fue la biopsia hepática
