ABSTRACT
. Introduction. The electrocardiogram (EKG) is the graphic representation of the electrical activity that stimulates the heart. The heart electrical axis refers to the direction or angle of the main vector and, for its determination, only the hexaxial leads are used. Material and methods. Two new methods, called ®of the tangent¼ and ®of the equation¼, for heart electrical axis determination were created. For the calculation, both used numbers randomly assigned for the leads I and aVF. Results from both methods were represented in a scattergram, and their means were compared using the t of Student test, with an a = 0.05. Conclusions. Two new, rapid and precise methods for heart electrical axis determination were created.
