RESUMO
Objetivo:
averiguar o quanto o hábito de leitura influência nos erros ortográficos e se há diferençasignificante entre meninos e meninas, alunos da 4a série do ensino fundamental.Métodos:
foi utilizadoo questionário sobre o hábito de leitura e o roteiro de observação do perfil ortográfico, ambos propostospor Zorzi (1998), com a finalidade de traçar o perfil de leitor e o perfil ortográfico.Resultados:
deacordo com a pesquisa, notou-se que 50% das meninas e 43% dos meninos gostavam muito de ler.Já no perfil ortográfico, as meninas apresentaram 37% de baixo domínio ortográfico e os meninos33%. No cruzamento dos perfis de leitor e ortográfico, os meninos considerados leitores pouco ativoscom baixo domínio ortográfico representaram 2% do total desta categoria e as meninas 5%.Conclusão:
não foi encontrada diferença significante entre meninos e meninas. O hábito de leitura não mostrou serum fator determinante para a diminuição dos erros ortográficos.ABSTRACT
Purpose:
investigate how reading practice affects orthography errors and if there is a significant differencebetween boys and girls.Methods:
a questionnaire about reading practice and a guidebook on readinghabit and orthography profile observation routine, both proposed by Zorzi, were used to try to figure outthe reader profile and the orthography profile.Results:
according to our research we observed that 50%of the girls and 43% of the boys enjoy reading very much. Concerning the spelling profile, 37% of thegirls and 33% of the boys committed a lot of writing mistakes. When both spelling and reading profileare crossed, boys that read a little bit and committed too many mistakes represent 2% of all them. Onthe other hand for girls the percentage is 5%.Conclusion:
based on statistical analysis, no evidencewas found to prove a significant difference between boys and girls. Reading practice seems not beingdeterminant factor for decreasing orthographic errors.
