Implicações legais da prescrição medicamentosa na odontologia / Legal implications of drug prescription in dentistry

RESUMO

Objetivo: Verificar o conhecimento dos cirurgiões-dentistas de Araçatuba sobre os aspectos legais da prescrição medicamentosa. Material e Métodos: Foram entrevistados 158 cirurgiões-dentistas da região de Araçatuba - São Paulo - Brasil, através de preenchimento de questionário padrão, baseado na legislação vigente. Os dados foram submetidos a análise estatística descritiva. Resultados: Nos receituários, 97,5% dos CDs utilizam como elemento de identificação profissional nome e número de inscrição no Conselho Regional de Odontologia, com relação ao paciente, 32,1% não utilizam nome e RG. Apenas 59,9% conhecem a diferença entre medicamentos de uso externo e interno. Embora 94,5% dos entrevistados emitem receitas, 58% da amostra considera importante a realização de cópias, não tendo o hábito de fazê-las. Conclusão: Há uma falta de concordância em relação ao completo conteúdo e identificação necessária do receituário. Os profissionais causam confusão na correlação entre medicamentos de uso interno e externo, havendo uma negligência ou desconhecimento por parte destes perante a importância de se guardar cópias.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To verify the acquaintance of dental surgeons in Araçatuba with legal aspects of drug prescription. Material and Methods: 158 dental surgeons of the region of Araçatuba - São Paulo - Brazil were interviewed through the filling out of a standard questionaire, based on the legislation in force. Results: The name and the registration number issued by the Regional Dentistry Council are used as professional identification on the prescription from by 97,5% of the professionals. Regarding patient identification, 32,1% of the dental surgeons do not write the patient's name and national ID number (RG) on the prescription. Only 59,9% know the difference between drugs of external and internal use. Even though 94,5% prescribe medication, 58% of the interviewees consider important do keep a copy of the prescription, but they do not do it. Conclusion: There is a discrepancy concerning the overall content and necessary identification elements on the prescription from. The professionals confuse drug of external and internal use. There is a negligence or ignorance concerning the importance of keeping a copy of prescriptions.
