RESUMEN
El autor hace una revisión epidemiológica sobre el asma bronquial en México, en diferentes hospitales del país y los compara con los datos registrados en el Intituto Mexicano del Seguro Social de 1980-84. Se encuentra que la tendencia general es al aumento progresivo de bronquiolitis, asma y bronquitis crónica en relación al deterioro del medio ambiente. Se concluye que es urgente realizar un estudio, epidemiológico sobre asma en la población general del país y mantener medidas de control y preventivas acordes a la magnitud del problema
