ABSTRACT
Merleau-Ponty in The Structure of Behaviour (1938) indicates limitations to the psychophysiology from the 30s and 40s, in regard to the analysis of behavior. Within these limitations Merleau-Ponty distinguishes Reductionism, Dualism, Mechanicism and Atomism. In an attempt to overcome these limitations the author suggests a transcendental analytics as a solution, according to which the organism would be organized as an intentional unit inseparable from the world. The aim of this study is thus to rethink the adequacy of Merleau-Pontys criticism of classic Psychophysiology.
