RESUMO

As reflexões sobre as produções artísticas, geralmente, prendem-se àesfera da beleza. Poucas oferecem uma pastagem ao olhar, pelo horror, comonas produções da body art, que não são rituais de passagem nem selaminiciação à comunidade. Nessas artes, indaga-se o que causa um artistapara oferecer seu corpo a múltiplas transformações, para criar um espetáculoque faz irromper, no espectador, angústia e horror? Devemos situar odesejo inconsciente que expressa o lado obscuro do existir a dor elevada aoícone de gozo, pela negação da sensação dolorosa e pela postura do sujeitode observá-la, conduzindo a estados de êxtase. Tais produções nos introduzemno umbigo do mistério que faz o artista transformar-se em seu própriocarrasco, num oferecimento do corpo como o objeto que desconhece oslimites da castração, a busca de uma satisfação pulsional, pela crença deque o objeto “a” pode irromper.

ABSTRACT

Reflections regarding artistic productions generally attach themselves tothe sphere of beauty. Few offer a pasture of views, of horror, as productions of body art, which are not passage rituals, nor seal community initiation. Wequestion within these arts what causes an artist to offer his body to undergomultiple transformations, in order to create a spectacle, irrupting anguish andhorror in the spectator? We ought to situate the unconscious desire that expressesthe obscure side of existence pain promoted to the icon of jouissance, by thenegation of the painful sensation and by the posture of the subject whilst observingthe pain, leading to states of ecstasy. Such productions introduce us to the centre ofthe mystery that makes the artist transform himself into his own executioner, inan offering of his body as an object that does not recognize the limits of castration,the search for drive satisfaction, in the belief that object “a” can irrupt.Keywords object “a”; anguish; jouissance; body art; pain.
