The purpose was to determine the Efficiency ofthe Sub Epithelial Keratectomy Aided by Laser inlight to moderate myopia. Methods:
a retrospectivetransversal study was done by checking the clinicalrecords at the Institute of Cornea in Bogotá of 71patients with myopia without astigmatism to whomLasek was practiced between January 2000 andJune 2004. In order to verify the Efficiency of theprocedure, the visual acuity without correction andpreoperative spherical equivalent were related to thepostoperative result a month later. Results:
there werecases with visual acuity of 20/40 even or better 97 percentand with 20/20 72 percent. There was refraction betweenapproximately 1.0 D in the 100 percent of cases There wasrefraction between more or less 0.5 D in the 69 percent.Preoperative spherical equivalent was -2.95D, with aresult a month later of +0.02 D.Conclusions:
Lasekis considered an efficient refractive surgery to correctlight to moderate myopia.
