RESUMO
O objetivo da pesquisa foi verificar através do Inventário de Avaliação Pediátricade Incapacidade (PEDI), diferenças no desempenho funcional e a necessidadede auxílio do cuidador em 61 crianças, sendo 34 com transtorno invasivo do desenvolvimentoe 27 com retardo mental, com médias de idade 8,06 e 8,12 respectivamente,todos diagnosticados previamentepor equipe multidisciplinar, atravésdas escalas ATA, CARS e Vineland.Os dados obtidos foram analisados estatisticamente, através do programa Bioestat 5.0, realizando test t para comparaçãode médias, o qual não evidencioudiferenças significativas no desempenhoe na necessidade de auxílio do cuidador, exceto no item mobilidade de habilidades funcionais.
ABSTRACT
The goal of this research is to verify through Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory (PEDI), differences in performance and the need of aid from the caregiver of 61 children, being 34 of them with pervasive development disorder and 27 with mental retardation, the average of their age is between 8,06 and 8,12 respectively, all previously diagnosed by a multidisciplinary team, through the scales ATA, CARS and Vineland.The collected date were statistically analyzed by the program Bioestat 5.0, and T Tests were made to compare the averages, which showed no significant differences in performance and the need of aid from the caregiver, except for item mobility of functional abilities.
