RESUMO
O monitoramento dos exames do pré-natal para detecção da sífilis em gestante é uma estratégia de vigilância da sífilis congênita. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a utilidade e sensibilidade das fontes disponíveis de informação para sífilis em gestante, residentes em Recife - Pernambuco, no ano de 2009. Adotou-se como metodologia o cruzamento entre as informações laboratoriais e do Sinan. Os resultados mostraram um percentual de 73 por cento de casos subnotificados e elevou a notificação em 122 por cento. Com isso, a incidência inicial de 4,2 gestantes infectadas passou para 9,4 gestantes infectadas por mil nascidos vivos. Foram demonstradas as fragilidades do Sinan no registro da informação e que as informações laboratoriais podem melhorar consideravelmente as estimativas das gestantes infectadas, revelando melhor a situação epidemiológica da sífilis em gestantes.
ABSTRACT
Monitoring syphilis prenatal tests is a strategy for congenital syphilis surveillance. The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness and sensitivity of the available sources ofinformation of syphilis in pregnant women from Recife Pernambuco, in 2009. It was adopted, as methodology, a linkage between the laboratory and Sinan information. The results showed 73% of the cases were not notified, and that the linkage raised the notificationin 122%. Therefore initial incidence of 4.2 raised to 9.4 infected pregnant women per thousand live births. It was demonstrated the weaknesses in the Sinans information record and that the laboratory information can improved considerably the estimation of the infected pregnant women, revealing better the epidemiological situation of syphilis in pregnant women.
