A vivência do enfermeiro diante da privação materna em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal / The experience of nurses in the context of maternal deprivation in a neonatal intensive therapy unit

RESUMO

As interações entre mãe e filho levam a formação do apego, vinculo afetivo estabelecido entre ambos, que possibilita a criação de uma auto-imagem saudável. O distanciamento precoce e prolongado entre mãe e recém-nascido, denominado de privação materna, dificulta o relacionamento afetivo, repercutindo de forma negativa na saúde mental do individuo. Frente a isso foi elaborado um estudo com o objetivo de discutir a vivência do enfermeiro diante da privação materna em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal; identificar a compreensão dos enfermeiros sobre o apego materno filial e descrever medidas que favoreçam o estabelecimento deste vínculo. Pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa, que utilizou para obtenção dos dados a entrevista semi-estruturada, aplicada à enfermeiros que atuam em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal, discentes de um curso de especialização neopediátrica. A análise dos dados permitiu a elaboração de três categorias privação e a permanência dos pais na unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal; vínculo materno filial na compreensão dos enfermeiros e cotidiano no trabalho em unidade de terapia intensiva neonatal. Na conclusão é evidenciado que a efetiva atenção ao recém-nascido e sua família demanda a atuação de profissionais sensibilizados e envolvidos que consolidem uma assistência integral de qualidade.

ABSTRACT

Interactions between mother and child lead to the formation of an attachment, a bond established between the two that enables the creation of a healthy self-image. Early and prolonged distance between mother and newborn, called maternal deprivation, hinders the development of the bond, and has negative repercussions on the mental health of the individual. As a result, a study was prepared to discuss the experience of nurses in the context of maternal deprivation at a neonatal intensive therapy unit, to identify the understanding of nurses about maternal bonding and to describe measures that favor the establishment of this bond. This study has a qualitative approach, and used semi-structured interviews to obtain data from nurses who work at a neonatal intensive therapy unit, and who are taking a neopediatric specialization course. Analysis of the data allows the preparation of three categories deprivation and presence of parents at the neonatal intensive therapy unit; mother-child bond as understood by nurses; and daily work at a neonatal intensive therapy unit. In the conclusion, it is shown that actual attention to the newborn and its family requires the work of sensitized and involved professionals who consolidate integral quality care.
