RESUMO
Objetivo. Descrever a prática educativa dos enfermeiros que atuam na Estratégia Saúde da Família (ESF). Metodologia. Estudo qualitativo realizado em 2010. Fizeram-se entrevistas semi-estruturadas sobre as vivências cotidianas de 20 enfermeiros que laboravam com a ESF na 10ª Regional de Saúde do Paraná, Brasil. Resultados. Todos os enfermeiros atribuem grande importância à educação em saúde, a qual se realiza em forma cotidiana. A nível individual, destacaram-se as orientações em puericultura, enquanto no âmbito coletivo foram mais frequentes as atividades educativas grupais -gestantes, hipertensos e fumantes-. Em alguns relatos se apreciou que a avaliação das necessidades educativas da população foi feita sem a participação efetiva da comunidade. Conclusão. A prática de ESF deve ser reorientada à promoção e prevenção em saúde, tentando a ativa participação da família e da comunidade em general, fortalecendo novas fórmulas sobre pensar e fazer em saúde.
RESUMEN
Objetivo. Describir la práctica educativa de los enfermeros que actúan con la Estrategia de Salud de la Familia (ESF). Metodología. Estudio cualitativo realizado en 2010. Se hicieron entrevistas semiestructuradas sobre las vivencias cotidianas de 20 enfermeros que laboraban en la ESF en la 10ª Regional de Salud del Paraná, Brasil. Resultados. Todos los enfermeros atribuyen gran importancia a la educación en salud, la cual realizan en forma cotidiana. Individualmente, se destacaron las orientaciones en puericultura, mientras que en el ámbito colectivo fueron más frecuentes las actividades educativas grupales -gestantes, hipertensos y fumadores-. En algunos relatos se apreció que la evaluación de las necesidades educativas de la población, se realizó sin participación efectiva de la comunidad. Conclusión. La práctica de ESF debe ser reorientada a la promoción y prevención en salud, procurando la activa participación de la familia y de la comunidad en general, fortaleciendo nuevas fórmulas sobre pensar y hacer en salud.
ABSTRACT
Objective. To describe nurses’ who participate in the Family Health Strategy (FHS) educational practice. Methodology. Qualitative study, carried out in 2010. Semi-structured interviews about daily experiences of 20 nurses who worked with the FHS in the 10th Health Regional of Paraná, Brazil, were done. Results. All the nurses confer great importance to health education, which they do daily. At the individual level, childcare guidance is highlighted, while in the group level, group educational activities – pregnant women, hypertensive patients, and smokers- were the most frequent ones. In some stories it was appreciated that the evaluation of educational necessities of the population was done without the effective participation of the community. Conclusion. FHS practice should be reoriented to health’s promotion and prevention, trying to get family and general community active participation, strengthening new formulas about thinking and doing in health.
