RESUMEN
Se realizó un estudio de intervención educativa cuasiexperimental antes-después en especialistas en Medicina General Integral y Licenciados en Enfermería pertenecientes a la brigada médica de colaboración ubicada en el Hospital de Campaña Muelle de los Bueyes de Nicaragua, en el periodo comprendido entre enero y diciembre de 2009. El universo de estudio estuvo constituido por 35 profesionales, doce especialistas de Medicina General Integral y veintitrés licenciados; se tuvieron en cuenta criterios de inclusión, exclusión y salida. Los resultados demostraron que existe diferencia estadísticamente significativa en la proporción de profesionales con conocimientos sobre afecciones quirúrgicas de urgencia antes y después de la intervención, por lo que el curso cumplió su objetivo.
ABSTRACT
A quasi-experimental educational intervention before-after was conducted in Comprehensive General Medicine specialists and graduates in nursing belonging to Collaborative medical brigade located in Hospital Campaign Muelle de los Bueyes from Nicaragua, in the period between January and December 2009. The study group consisted of 35 professionals, twelve Comprehensive General Medicine specialists and twenty-three graduates; were taken into account criteria of inclusion, exclusion and exit. The results showed that difference exists statistically significant in the professional proportion with expertise in emergency surgical conditions before and after the intervention, so the course met its goal.
