RESUMO
O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar o conhecimento e atitudes de cirurgiões-dentistas frente à ocorrência de acidente ocupacional com material biológico. A população estudada constituiu-se pelos cirurgiões-dentistas do serviço público dos municípios pertencentes à Direção Regional de Saúde II (DRS II) - Araçatuba. Aplicou-se um questionário semi-estruturado, com perguntas abertas e fechadas, com a finalidade de verificar aspectos relacionados à exposição ocupacional a material biológico. Participaram da pesquisa 83 profissionais, sendo que 32 (38,6 por cento) referiram ter sofrido algum tipo de acidente com material biológico, 41 (49,4por cento) afirmaram não terem tido orientação sobre como proceder e 64 (77,1por cento) que não existia um protocolo no seu local de trabalho a ser seguido. 59 (71,1 por cento) disseram não saber após quanto tempo deveria ser iniciada a quimioprofilaxia ao HIV, 52 (62,7 por cento) qual a duração e 60 (72,3 por cento) a sua eficácia. 63 (75,9 por cento) referiram não conhecer se existia medida eficaz para redução do risco de transmissão da hepatite C pós-exposição. Além disto, 72 (86,7 por cento) afirmaram que não tiveram orientação no seu local de trabalho para o preenchimento da Comunicação de Acidente de Trabalho (CAT). Conclui-se que existe deficiência dos profissionais no conhecimento sobre o tema e atitudes a serem tomadas no caso de infortúnio profissional.
ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to assess knowledge and attitudes of dentists facing the occurrence of occupational accidents with biological material. The study population was constituted by dentists from the public service of the municipalities belonging to the Regional Health Department II (RHD II) - Araçatuba. It was applied a semi-structured questioner with opened and closed questions with the aim to verify the occupational exposition at biological material. Just 83 dental surgeons participated of this research being 32 (38,6 percent) cited suffer themselves some kind of accident with biological material and 41 (49,4 percent) affirmed didn’t had orientation about how to conduct. Just 59 (71,1 percent) said they didn’t know after how much time it was adequate to start the chemical prophylaxy at HIV, 52 (62,7 percent) what was it duration and 60 (72,3 percent) what was the efficacy. 63 (75,9 percent) referred didn’t know if there is efficient measure to reduce risk of transmission of C Hepatitis post exposition. Moreover, 72 (86,7 percent) said they had no guidance in their workplace for completion of the Report of Workplace Accident (RWA). It was possible to conclude that there is absence of know about this theme and attitudes to realize on professional misfortune cases.
