Édipo e Gênero / Oedipus and Gender

RESUMO

Este artigo discute a concepção psicanalítica acerca do complexo de Édipo, principalmente em relação à diferenciação entre o Édipo masculino e o feminino. A referida diferenciação é questionada, bem como a universalidade dos conceitos "inveja de pênis" e "complexo de castração". Propõe-se que o complexo de Édipo se refira à passagem da posição de objeto para a de sujeito, em virtude do processo de aquisição de linguagem, sendo independente de sexo ou gênero.

ABSTRACT

This paper discusses the psychoanalytical conception referring to the Oedipus Complex, mainly the distinction between the boy and the girl Oedipus‘s. The mentioned distinction is objected, as well as the general application of the notions "penis envy" and "castration complex". A proposal is made that the Oedipus Complex refers to the passage from the position of object to the subject position, following language acquisition, process not depending on sex or gender.
