Antipsicóticos atípicos y esquizofrenia / Antipsychotic atypical and schizophrenia

RESUMEN

Los antipsicóticos atípicos, conservando sus características antipsicóticas, actúan sobre los síntomas negativos de la esquizofrenia refractaría sin producir efectos colaterales extrapiramidales ni acción depresora del sistema nervioso central. Han abierto un nuevo horizonte en la investigación clínica psicopatológica, y neuroquímica y etiopatogénica de la esquizofrenia. Entre ellos, se hace una revisión de la clozapina y risperidona como los más representativos del grupo, que vienen siendo utilizados en la práctica psiquiátrica con resultados bastante alentadores. La clozapina tiene una acción mixta sobre los receptores D1, D2, 5HT al, 2a, H1 y bajo aumento del PRC. Se encuentra en la fase de estudio IV. La risperidona es fundamentalmente un antagonista de la serotonina con acción sobre 5HT, D2, al y aumento del PRL. Se encuentra en fase de estudio III.

ABSTRACT

The atypical antipsychotic drugs, keeping their antipsychotic properties have a more specific action on refractory schizophrenic negative symptoms with absence of extrapiramidal side effects and central nervous system depressive action. They have opened up a new perspective in clinical, psychopathological and ethiopathogenic research in schizophrenia. Clozapine and risperidone, as representative drugs of the drug of the group, are reviewed. They have been used with very hopeful results for the last two years. Clozapine has a mixed action on D1, D2, 5HT, a1, a2, H1 and low PRL increase; it is, by now, going through its phase III of research study.
