RESUMO
Edição histórica 25 anos foi organizada pelos pesquisadores do Departamento de Endemias, Luciano Toledo e Paulo Sabroza e pelo pesquisador do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/Fiocruz), Antônio Simas Bulcão. O principal objetivo desse estudo era o de contribuir para a aproximação de reflexão científica com as questões de grande interesse social e suas relações com a saúde da população. Certamente esta edição histórica contém inúmeras rugosidades que preservam nos tempos atuais, lamentáveis cenários sanitários predominates nos municípios estudados na década de 80. Os desafios continuam presentes nos dias atuais. Esperamos que os próximos 25 anos sejam dedicados a superação dos mesmos
