As novas possibilidades e os novos desafios dos alinhadores estéticos / The new possibilities and the new challenges of aesthetic aligners

RESUMO

Introdução: o desenvolvimento crescente de novas tecnologias,voltado para o diagnóstico e para o tratamento em Ortodontia eOrtopedia Facial, tornou possível a criação de alinhadores ortodônticosremovíveis finos, transparentes e ajustáveis, a fim de produzir movimentosdentais sucessivos que ajudam na correção de más-oclusõesleves a moderadas. Cada vez mais, estas placas termoplásticas aumentamsua aplicabilidade dentro da prática ortodôntica, tornando ostratamentos mais cômodos e estéticos para os pacientes. Objetivos:este trabalho visou, por meio de uma análise bibliográfica, apresentaros mais recentes sistemas de alinhamento realizado por alinhadoresestéticos, e demonstrar, com o auxílio de casos clínicos, as novaspossibilidades que estes sistemas oferecem. Conclusão: concluiu-seque embora ainda existam limitações, principalmente no que se refereao posicionamento radicular, estes posicionadores estéticos estãose tornando cada vez mais funcionais e práticos, corrigindo desdepequenos apinhamentos até problemas sagitais.

ABSTRACT

Introduction: the increasing development of newtechnologies for diagnosis and treatment in Orthodontics and FacialOrthopedics, made possible the creation of removable orthodonticaligners thin, invisible, and adjusted to produce successive toothmovements that help in correcting malocclusions mild to modera te.Increasingly, these thermoplastic aligners increase its applicabilitywithin the orthodontic practice making more comfortable and aesthetictreatments to patients. Objectives: this study aims, through a carefulanalysis of the literature, present the most recent alignment systemsthrough the aesthetic aligners and present, through a clinical case,the new possibilities of such systems. Conclusion: we concluded thatalthough there are limitations, especially with regard to the positioningroot, these aesthetic positioners becoming more functional and pratical,treating since mild crowding and sagittal problems.
