The author reports the history of Fundaçäo Antonio Prudente since its establishment in 1936. he also reports the history of Hospital A. C. Camargo, Escola de Cancerologia Celestino Bourroul and the problems faced by Dr. Antonio Prudente, the founder of Associaçäo Paulista de Combate ao Câncer, later named Fundaçäo Antonio Prudente, for realizing the dream of his life to build a cancer hospital in Säo Paulo
