RESUMEN
Fundamento la educación en valores es una condición pedagógica que se ha mantenido en la formación de recursos humanos en salud, a pesar de la masividad de las matrículas. Objetivo:
analizar los juicios emitidos por estudiantes de Medicina ante dos dilemas morales, como indicativos de la expresión consciente de sus propios valores.Métodos:
se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo en la Facultad de Medicina No. 2 de la Universidad de Ciencias Médicas de Santiago de Cuba durante el curso 2009-2010. La población de estudio estuvo constituida por los 204 estudiantes de primer año de Medicina y la muestra por 60, seleccionados por muestreo aleatorio simple. Se utilizaron métodos teóricos, entre ellos análisis-síntesis e inducción-deducción; empíricos en la aplicación de la técnica pedagógica dilemas morales, para la elaboración personal de juicios valorativos por los estudiantes, y matemáticos para los valores absolutos y relativos.Resultados:
en los juicios emitidos se pudo constatar que la mayoría de los estudiantes aún no ha cultivado suficientemente valores como la responsabilidad, el respeto a la vida, la honestidad, el colectivismo y la lealtad.Conclusiones:
el estudio realizado sirvió de indicativo sobre la necesidad de incrementar y perfeccionar los valores de los estudiantes a fin de garantizar un profesional de la salud, con una sólida formación ética.ABSTRACT
Background:
the education in values is a pedagogical condition that has been kept in the formation of the public health human resources, in spite of the massive registrations.Objective:
to analyze the criteria given by the medical students while phasing two moral dilemmas which represent a conscious expression of their own values.Methods:
a descriptive cross-sectional study based on observations was carried out in the Faculty II of Santiago de Cuba University of Medical Sciences in the academic year 2009-2010. The study population comprised 204 students of the first year medicine career and the sample comprised 60 students chosen in a simple randomized way. Theoretical methods were used, among them analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction. Empirical methods were also used in the application of the pedagogical technique moral dilemmas, so as to elaborate the personal judgments of the students in reference to different values. it could be stated that some values like responsibility, respect for life, honesty, collectivism and loyalty have not been completely internalized by the students.Conclusions:
this study indicated the necessity to increase and complete the work with these values, so as to guaranty the formation of a health professional with a solid ethical formation.
