Objectives:
there are many gaps in knowledge about physical activity and epilepsy. The doubts and beliefs mingle with scientific knowledge. Can patients with epilepsy practice sports?Methods:
in this context, this literature review brought some important studies on physical activity, exercise and sports related epilepsy. Results/Conclusions:
the results showed that involvement in sporting activities, with guidance, can be an effective adjuvant therapeutic method in the treatment of these people, contributing mainly in sense of well-being and combating stress, thereby providing a better quality of life for patients...RESUMO
Objetivos:
existem muitas lacunas no conhecimento a respeito da prática de atividades físicas e a epilepsia. Dúvidas e crenças relacionadas aparecem e se confundem com o conhecimento científico. Pacientes com epilepsia podem praticar atividades esportivas?Metodologia:
diante deste contexto, esta pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica reuniu os principais estudos sobre atividade física, exercício físico e esportes relacionados com epilepsia. Resultados/Conclusões:
os resultados mostraram que o envolvimento nas atividades esportivas, com orientação, pode ser um eficiente método terapêutico no tratamento destes indivíduos, contribuindo principalmente na sensação de bem estar e combate ao estresse, proporcionando desta forma uma melhor qualidade de vida aos pacientes...
