RESUMEN
Identificar la proporción de pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo 2 que alcanzan el control glicémico en un programa de diabetes. MATERIAL y MÉTODO. Se realizó un estudio en 112 pacientes que acudieron al programa de diabetes del Hospital EsSalud Florencia de Mora, La Libertad. RESULTADOS. La edad promedio fue 63,2 ± 10,5 años, 62%fueron de sexo femenino. El índice de masa corporal (IMC) promedio fue 27,1 y 30 % de pacientes estaban en el rango de normal. El promedio de hemoglobina glicosilada fue 8,6 % ± 2,2 con 25 % de controlados según este criterio. El promedio de glucosa de ayuno fue 154,8 ± 55,5 mg/dL con 26% de controlados. El control glicémico se observó en 75 % de los tratados con dieta, en 27,5 % de los que recibieron antidiabéticos orales y en 21 % de los que recibieron insulina. Se observó mayor proporción de controlados (39 %) en el grupo de lMC normal y cuando el tiempo de diagnóstico fue de uno a cuatro años, 34 %. CONCLUSIÓN. Solo la cuarta parte de los pacientes con diabetes tipo 2 en el programa de diabetes del hospital alcanzó el control glicémico...
ABSTRACT
To identify the proportion of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 who achieve glycemic control in a diabetes program. MATERIAL AND METHODS. A descriptive and retrospective study was conducted in 112 patients who attended to the diabetes program in Hospital EsSalud Florencia de Mora, La Libertad. RESULTS. The mean age was 63,2 ± 10,5 year-old; 62 % were female. The body mass index (BMI) averaged 27,1 with a 30 % in normal range. The mean of glycosylated hemoglobin was 8,6 % ± 2,2 with 25 % controlled patients by this criterion. The average fasting glucose was 154,8 ± 55,5 mg/dL, with 26 % controlled patients. Glycemic control was observed in 75 % of patients treated with diet, 27,5 % of those receiving oral agents and 21% of those receiving insulin. In the normal BM/ group, a greater proportion (39 %) of controlled patients was observed and when the diagnosis time was from 1 to 4 years (34 %). CONCLUSION.
