La Gastroenterología Pediátrica y Nutrición en el Perú, es una de las subespecialidades de la Pediatría que ha experimentado uno de los crecimientos más significativos en las últimas décadas, sin embargo, para alcanzar este sitial debió recorrer un largo camino construido gracias al empeño y talento de cientos de médicos de varias generaciones. Su historia moderna se inició en 1981, con la creación de la primera unidad de la especialidad en el Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño (INSN), seguido por el establecimiento de la segunda especialización, que coadyuvaron a su difusión y progreso en diversos nosocomios del país, muchos de los cuales cuentan ahora con un médico de esta especialidad. The Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition in Peru, is one of the subspecialties of Pediatrics that has experienced one of the most significant growth in recent decades, however, to achieve this seat it should have passed a long way built through the efforts and talent hundreds of doctors for several generations.
