RESUMO
Neste trabalho foram estudadas 122 criancas vitimas de maus tratos. Verificou-se que a grande maioria apresentava menos de 3 anos de idade. Sendo a sua historia clinica, em geral, dificil de ser obtida, o causador dos maus tratos e, na maior parte das vezes, desconhecido. Os problemas apresentados decorreram de negligencia, contusoes fraturas, queimaduras ou abuso sexual. As lesoes osseas ocorridas eram unicas ou multiplas, sendo que em um caso a crianca apresentava 14 fraturas
