ABSTRACT
Anaemia in Montserrat was studied by examining the case notes of 184 women giving birth in 1980. If WHO standards were used, 82.3 percent of the antenatals were found to be anaemic. The problem of anaemia in Montserrat is probably dietary in origin. The dietary data indicated a low iron consumption with absorption. A deficiency of folate could also be responsible (AU)
