RESUMO
A violência intrafamiliar contra a criança tem suscitado diferentes questionamentos, haja vista a peculiaridade de o violentador, com freqüência, manter algum tipo de vínculo afetivo com a criança. Especificamente a violência fisica tem estreita relação com o ato disciplinador ou a estratégia educativa. Tal prática, aceita em nossa sociedade, dificulta a visibilidade da violência dos pais ou cuidadores sobre a criança. A presente pesquisa, descritiva de abordagem qualitativa, apresenta como objetivo conhecer concepções e práticas de pediatras relacionadas à violência fisica intrafamiliar contra a criança, à luz de sua história de vida e formação. Visa, portanto, a compreender, nesta conjuntura, como está sustentado teórica e pessoalmente o atendimento prestado à criança violentada e sua família. Foram entrevistados residentes em pediatria e médicos pediatras de um hospital-escola do interior do Estado do Paraná. O modelo de entrevista utilizado, denominado história de vida temática, consiste em dois momentos relato espontâneo sobre sua história de vida e complementação através de tópicos previamente definidos pelo pesquisador. O número de participantes foi definido utilizando-se o próprio universo do hospital e o ponto de saturação. Dessa forma, foram realizadas onze entrevistas -sete residentes, um plantonista e três docentes de pediatria -, todas gravadas, transcritas integralmente e analisadas qualitativamente. A análise apoiou-se na contraposição de sentidos construídos no processo de pesquisa e de interpretação e aqueles decorrentes da familiarização com o campo de estudo e os princípios teóricos básicos. Os resultados apontam para a diferenciação feita pelos profissionais entre bater como forma de disciplina, reconhecido como palmada educativa, e a ação violenta. ABSTRACT
Family violence against children has excited different questionings, considering the peculiarity of violators often having some type of affective ties with the child. Specifically physical violence has a narrow relation with the disciplinarian act or the educative strategy. Such practices, accepted in our society, make it difficult to identify violence either from parents or guardians. The present descriptive research of qualitative approach, presents as main objective to identify conceptions and practices of pediatricians regarding family physical violence against children, taking in consideration their life history and the academic background. It aims therefore, to understand, under this conjuncture, how theoretical and personal support is given to the abused child and its family. Pediatricians, doctors and pediatrics intems from an academic hospital from Paraná State were interviewed. The model used for interviewing, known as history Df thematic life, consists of two different moments first a spontaneous recount oflife history, completed then, by topics previously detined by the researcher. The number ofparticipants was defined using the hospital's universe and its point of saturation. Seven intems, a shift doctor and three pediatrics professors went through eleven interviews, alI of them recorded, transcribed and qualitatively analyzed. The analysis was supported in the counter position of senses built in the process of research and the interpretation lead by the familiarization with the basic study field and theoretical principIes. The results pointed out to the differentiation made by professionals between beating as a form of discipline, recognized as educative slapping, and the violent action.
