Trânsito religioso e construções identitárias: mobilidade social de evangélicos neopentecostais / Religious transit and identity constructions: social mobility of neo-pentecostal evangelicals

RESUMO

O trânsito religioso do brasileiro pode ser compreendido como a mobilidade social de pessoas que encontram em um novo grupo características que desejam compartilhar. Para compreender este fenômeno e suas implicações, entrevistamos 20 participantes ativos de uma igreja evangélica neopentecostal. Os dados foram submetidos à Análise de Conteúdo por meio do software QSR N6. Os resultados indicaram que os entrevistados adotaram o novo grupo religioso como endogrupo, transformando em exogrupo o modo de vida anterior - religioso ou não. As pessoas próximas, que permaneceram em seu grupo de origem, inicialmente foram distanciadas, e depois se tornaram alvo dos participantes, os quais buscavam aproximar familiares e amigos ao seu novo endogrupo.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Brazilians religious exchange can be understood as social mobility for people which find in a new group skills and thoughts they wish to share. To understand this phenomenon and its implications, we have interviewed 20 active members of a new Pentecostal church. Data were submitted to Content Analysis by the QSR N6 software. Results demonstrate that the new religious group was identified by the participants as their new in-group, and the previous one, religious or not, as their out-group. Close people which remained in the out-group initially had been kept at a distance, but then they became a target; participants try to reach family and friends to their new in-group.(AU)
