ABSTRACT
This article discusses the relationship between adoption and filiation. It is based on the assumption that a child, even before birth or adoption, is generated in the desire of his parents or the parental pair. But it may also be the result of a dead wish. Some aspects related to the act of adoption are discussed, as well as the narratives built around the impasses in performing maternal and paternal functions, as if the child were an object to be "donated" by the biological mother and to be "received" by an adoptive mother. In order to promote a debate on the related concepts, based on psychoanalysis from the Lacanian orientation, some clinical questions about adoption will be presented. The idea is to emphasize attendance to signifiers like "rejection", "exclusion" and "abandonment" in the analytical treatment.(AU)
