Este artigo pretende abordar o desejo do analista face ao desamparo contemporâneo, através de uma breve pontuação das principais transformaçõessociais e políticas do último século, assim como das que ocorreram na própriapsicanálise, enquanto teoria e terapêutica. Salienta a importância da criatividade do analista no acolhimento dessa experiência fundamental da condição humana que é o desamparo. (AU)

ABSTRACT

This article address the desire of the psychoanalyst in face of contemporarydistress. It provides a brief overview of the major social and political transformationsthroughout the century, as well as those occurred within psychoanalysisas theory and therapy. It highlights the importance of the analyst´s creativityin welcoming the fundamental experience of the human condition that is distress. (AU)
