This paper presents the results of a study developed with Military Police professionals, which investigated the collective experiences of these workers and the impacts of their everyday experiences on their health and subjectivity. For that, it was established a space for listening and discussion, based on the Psychodynamics of Work methodology. It was noticed that there was an intensive labor routine, high stress, physical and emotional exhaustion, besides the feeling of not being recognized and valued by the community and by the superiors at work. These professionals also feel charged and criticized by the society. They deal with limits, emotional pressures and rapid decisions, which keep them on alert and constant tension. It was possible to notice that Military Police professionals try to separate their work from their family, coping alone with their fears and apprehensions. Finally, the survey has shown that the workplace seems to be propitious to cause severe impacts on worker’s health and subjectivity, also considering the increasing indices of violence that pervade their daily lives.(AU)
