ABSTRACT
This article aims to reflect on the possibilities of rapprochement between the diagnostic categorizations produced by research in neuroscience and clinical practice oriented by social constructionist movement, focusing on the ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Starting from the constructionist premise that points the pragmatics effects of language, the particular purposes of this text are a) understand the ADHD as social construction, contextualizing the main aspects of its history; b) reflect on the effects of the use of diagnostic classifications in therapeutic conversations without, however, abandoning the conventional terminology about the problem; c) propose a theoretical-practical articulation from fragments of the childrens clinic treatment, seeing the construction of alternative narratives to the symptoms presented by children. In conclusion, the therapy assumed as collaborative discursive practice, pressuposes the commitment to extrapolate the field of ideas and seek transformations we consider inappropriate. A clinical practice is, accordingly, considered as an instrument of political change.(AU)
