Relações entre tecnologias de informação e comunicação e interações familiares: revisão narrativa-sistemática da literatura / Relationships between information and communication technologies and family interactions: systematic-narrative literature review

RESUMO

As tecnologias de informação e comunicação (TIC’s) fazem parte do cotidiano de indivíduos de todas as faixas etárias e em diferentes contextos, interatuando também com as relações familiares. Diante disso, realizou-se uma revisão narrativa-sistemática de literatura com o objetivo de compreender as relações entre o uso das TIC’s por crianças de 10 a 12 anos e as interações familiares. O levantamento dos artigos foi realizado nas bases de dados EBSCO, PsycINFO e BVSPsi. Após os procedimentos de seleção, 12 artigos compuseram o corpus de análise. Os resultados foram organizados em três categorias temáticas Padrões de uso das TIC’s; Preocupações dos pais acerca do uso das TICs pelas crianças e estratégias de regulação parental; e Relações entre o uso das TIC’s e as interações familiares. Verificou-se fácil acesso aos dispositivos digitais e alta frequência de uso pelas crianças. Os pais demonstraram preocupações sobre os riscos que seus filhos correm ao utilizar as tecnologias, mas, ao mesmo tempo, apresentaram dificuldades acerca de como monitorar esse uso. As estratégias de controle parentais eram diversificadas, e os estudos investigaram mais o controle do tempo de uso do que dos conteúdos acessados. O uso das TICs pelas crianças pode impactar positiva ou negativamente nas interações familiares. Recursivamente, a dinâmica relacional da família influencia na forma deste uso. Percebe-se necessidade de aprofundar estes conhecimentos por meio de novos estudos e de compreender as relações circulares e as retroalimentações entre todos os elementos identificados.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) are part of the daily routine of individuals of all age groups and in different contexts, also interacting with family relationships. Taking that into account, this systematic-narrative literature review aimed to understand the relationships between the use of ICTs by children aged 10 to 12 years and family interactions. The articles reviewed were retrieved from databases such as EBSCO, PsycINFO, BVSPsi and 12 articles comprised the corpusafter the selection procedures. The results led to three thematic categories ICT use patterns; Parents’ concerns about the use of ICTs by children and parental regulation strategies; and Relationships between the use of ICT and family interactions. The results yielded that children could easily access digital devices and had a high frequency of use. Parents expressed concerns about the risks that their children are vulnerable to when using technologies. They also have struggled establish strategies to supervise the use of ICTs by their children. Parental control strategies were diverse, and studies investigated more parental supervision on the length of time children spent using technologies rather the content they accessed. The results showed that the use of ICTs by children can positively or negatively impact family interactionsas the family’s relational dynamics can also influence the way children use ICTs. There is a need to deepen this knowledge through new studies and to understand circular relationships and feedback between all identified elements.(AU)
