Segments and Internal Structures of The Spinal Cord of Tree Shrews / 昆明医科大学学报

ABSTRACT
The segments and internal structures of the spinal cord of 10 tree shrews were studied. There are 33 segments in the spinal cord, i. e., 8 cervical, 13 thoracic, 6 lumbar, 3 sacral and 3 coccygeal. The cervical enlargement corresponds to the third to eighth cervical segment, and the lumbar enlargement corresponds to the fourth lumbar to first sacral segment. The length and diameters of the segments wrer measured. The intrenal structure of the spinal cord was observed, including the central canal, the white matter and the gray matter. And the structural lamination of the gray matter was described.
