Clinical observation of intradermal injection for treating cervical-shoulder acute herpes zoster / 解放军医学杂志

ABSTRACT
Objective To observe the analgesic effects of intradermal injection on the cervical-shoulder lesion areas caused by herpes zoster. Method The clinical data of 40 patients suffered from herpes zoster (distribution of skin lesion C2~C4) were retrospective analyzed. All the cases were divided into two groups, the 20 patients in group A received routine therapies (administered by antiviral drugs, vitamins and calamine lotion) and 2ml 0.75% bupivacaine as well by intradermal injection. The other 20 patients in group B received routine therapy only. The curative effect was evaluated by visual analogue scale (VAS) and quality of sleep (QS). Results After treatment the scores of VAS and QS declined obviously in group A (P0.05). On the day of treatment the scores of VAS and QS in group A were much lower than in group B (P
