ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the value of high-frequency ultrasonic visualization in the diagnosis of thyroid carcinoma. Methods High-frequency ultrasonic visualization features of 66 cases pathologically confirmed thyroid carcinoma were cross-check analyzed with pathology. Results The ultrasound detection rate was 93.9% and the misdiagnosis rate was 6.1%.Of the total 66 cases,49 were papillary thyroid carcinoma,11 were follicular thyroid carcinoma,4 were medullary carcinoma and 2 were undifferentiated carcinoma. The specific ultrasonographic features were as follows(1)irregular appearance;(2)indefinite border;(3)ring-sign negative;(4)pone attenuated;(5)uneven internal echo and grit-like calcification. Conclusion High frequency ultrasonic visualization is helpful in diagnosing thyroid carcinoma. When high frequency ultrasonic visualization shows as low level uneven echo and grit-like calcification with lymphadenectasis of homopleural neck, thyroid carcinoma should be on guard against.
