ABSTRACT
Objective:
To explore the role of clinical pharmacists in the development of individualized drug treatment regimen for multiple myeloma patients with venous thromboembolism.Methods:
One multiple myeloma patient suffering from venous thromboembo-lism after being treated with thalidomide combined with pegylated liposomal doxorubicinand dexamethasone was selected as the exam-ple. The cause and treatment of venous thromboembolism and the pharmaceutical service were analyzed.Results:
With the help of clinical pharmacists, the patient conquered the chemotherapy-induced venous thromboembolism, and clinical pharmacists enhanced the awareness of pharmaceutical care and played a positive role in the safe and effective drug use.Conclusion:
The optimization of drug therapy with the help of clinical pharmacists can improve clinical curative effect and safety of drug treatment.
