ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:

To investigate the chemical constituents in Rosa chinensis Jacq.

METHODS:

The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20, and recrystallization, et al. Their structures were elucidated by spectral analysis and physicochemical properties.

RESULTS:

From petroleum ether fraction and chloroform fraction of water extraction of Rosa chinensis Jacq., the structures of 15 compounds were identified as β-sitosterol (1), campesterol (2), cycloeucalenol (3), oleanolic acid(4), ursolic acid(5), myrianthic acid(6), euscaphic acid(7), kaempferol(8), quercetin(9), campherol-3-O-β-D-glucoside (10), campherol-3-O-β-D-sophoroside (11), quercetin-3-O-β-D-sophoroside (12), quercetin-7-O-β-D-gentiobioside (13), campherol-3-O-β-D-(6″-O-trans-p-coumaroyl)-glucoside(14), and apigenin-7-O-(6″-O-p-hydroxy benzyl)-β-D-glucoside (15).

CONCLUSION:

Compounds 2,4,5,6,7,12,13,14 and 15 are obtained from the plant for the first time. Copyright 2012 by the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.
