In his most recent book published by Routledge, Psychology through critical auto-ethnography, Ian Parker takes on the role of anthropologist to explore the world of psychology as an academic discipline. In contrast to the classical ethnographers who traveled to distant lands to describe other worlds - other cultures - and discover in them keys to human existence and organization, Parker chooses the path of autoethnography, to scrutinize the world of psychology through his own experience as a student, researcher, teacher and social activist
