The lobeira fruit (Solanum lycocarpum, St. Hil), family Solanaceae is a plant known for its therapeutic effects - sedative, diuretic, antiepileptic and antispasmodic. Its powder is being used as a hypoglycemic agent in Caratinga (MG).
