ABSTRACT
Malaria transmission persists with the occurrence of oligosymptomatic or asymptomatic cases due to Plasmodium vivax in the locality of Bananal, Peruíbe. The collections were performed by human bait from August 1986 to August 1988. They lasted 24h and were determined by Williams mean (Mw) according to Nielsens crep unit. An.(Ker.) cruzii was the most abundant species in the two habitats. The highest monthly results were obtained from December to May in the rainy season and in the indoor habitat they occurred in December and February. The lowest anopheline activity period was limited to June and July in the two habitats. Relationship between rainfall and vector biting activity showed correspondence. Relationship between vector activity and occurrence of cases of malaria also showed correlation.
