Percepción de estudiantes de Obstetricia sobre Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje / Perception of obstetric students on information and communication technologies in the teaching-learning process

RESUMEN

En el siglo XXI, la Tecnología de la Información y Comunicación (TIC) se convirtió en la forma dominante de la comunicación en las prácticas educativas, capaz de transformar y mejorar el aprendizaje del estudiante. El objetivo fue identificar la percepción de estudiantes sobre la TIC en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en la Carrera de Obstetricia en San Lorenzo, Paraguay en el 2017. Estudio observacional, fenomenológico y enfoque cualitativo, realizado en el Instituto Andrés Barbero-UNA, casa central. La muestra estuvo constituida por 20 estudiantes matriculados del cuarto curso, octavo semestre, seleccionados por muestreo intencional. Para la recolección de los datos se utilizó una entrevista semi-estructurada con una guía de preguntas, previo consentimiento verbal del estudiante se grabaron las entrevistas. Los datos sociodemográficos fueron tabulados por estadística descriptica y presentados en tablas. Las entrevistas fueron desgravadas y transcriptas textualmente. La mayoría de los estudiantes era del sexo femenino, entre 21 a 22 años de edad, procedencia del departamento central y de Asunción. Según los entrevistados, el docente utiliza la TIC como fuente de recurso educativo y medio de investigación; la TIC hace flexible el aprendizaje, invita al estudiante a investigar pero las estrategias de enseñanza están limitadas por la TIC. Sin embargo reconocieron que para el estudiante la TIC puede ser adictiva, aislarlos, y causar problemas visuales. En general la percepción del estudiante sobre la TIC es favorable(AU)

ABSTRACT

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the 21st century became the dominant form of communication in educational practices, capable of transforming and improving student learning. The objective was to identify the perception of students of the Obstetrics career about Information and Communication Technologies in the teaching-learning process in San Lorenzo-Paraguay, in 2017. This was an observational study with phenomenological design and qualitative approach carried out in the Instituto Andrés Barbero-UNA, central house. Sampling was intentional and sample was 20 students enrolled in the fourth year, eighth semester. For the data collection, a semi-structured interview with a guide of questions was used. A recorder was used during the interviews after the verbal consent of the students. The socio-demographic data were tabulated by descriptive statistics and presented in tables while the interviews were transcribed. Most of the students were female, between 21 and 22 years of age, from the Central Department and from Asuncion. According to the participants, the professors use ICT as a source of educational resources, means of research and flexible learning. ICT invites the student to investigate but teaching strategies are limited when it is used. However, for the student ICT is addictive, isolates them, and causes visual problems.
